Tufts Mock Trial is a 100% student-run collegiate mock trial organization that competes as a part of the American Mock Trial Association. Through mock trial, students practice public speaking and critical thinking skills while learning about the American Legal System. Teams prepare statements, examinations, and witness roles for the nationwide mock case, which alternates between civil and criminal matters each year.
Founded in 2004, Tufts Mock Trial has grown to become one of the top-ranking collegiate mock trial teams in the nation. Our young program has earned a spot at the National Championship Tournament for five straight years, placing 3rd in the nation in 2011, and followed up with a 5th-place finish in 2015, 6th place in 2018, 12th place in 2019, and 3rd place in 2021.
