Despite expanding educational access and opportunity over the past decades, we are facing both a rapidly escalating environmental crisis and deepening inequalities worldwide. The fact that the world is the most ‘educated’ it has ever been and yet the nearest to environmental breakdown suggests that the modern education system / itself is deeply implicated in the environmental crisis.
Decisions about our climate futures are usually made without the input of those who will be living those very futures. Join a global youth-led campaign that mobilizes the power of socially engaged art to ‘reeducate’ policymakers, reimagine climate futures, and share the voices of youth in spaces where they have been historically excluded. By flipping who teaches whom and what knowledge matters, this is a reminder that everyone — and everything — must change.
