Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts (CFCC)

Founded in 2000 by University of Baltimore Associate Professor Barbara Babb, the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts is a national leader in promoting the concept of a Unified Family Court system to resolve family conflicts in a therapeutic, ecological, and service-based manner. CFCC's work is guided by two overarching principles: • Therapeutic Jurisprudence - The belief that families and children deserve an effective and efficient court system that aims to improve their lives. • The Ecology of Human Development - A social science framework that requires a holistic look at the many systems affecting the lives of families and children. CFCC is a national leader in advancing policies and programs to mitigate the harms of the traditional family justice system, while promoting, implementing, improving, and evaluating the Unified Family Court model.
