The Ulaanbaatar Railway is a leading transport organization that makes a real contribution to the social and economic development of Mongolia, which has an IFRS assessment of compliance from the honorary international audit company “Pricewaterhouse Coopers Audit JSC” also the Ulaanbaatar Railway has developed a “Development program until 2030” corresponding to the concept of sustainable development of Mongolia. The UBTZ is equally owned by the governments of Russia and Mongolia. More than 90 percent of Mongolia's railway network is owned by UBTZ. It also has its own locomotive, wagon fleet and maintenance centers. UBTZ has the advantage of being the shortest railway bridge connecting the world's largest markets - Asia and Europe. The UBTZ handles more than 70 percent of Mongolia's import and export freight transportation. The UBTZ`s main line length is 1111 km and the length of the entire UBTZ network is 1815 km. From year to year, we provide fast, cheap, reliable and safe transportation of international and local passengers, export and import freight to the desired destination, and provide services that exceed the capacity of our railway. For example, 539 transit trains passed through UBTZ in 2017, 855 in 2018, and 1454 in 2019. In order to further increase transit traffic, we are focusing on a smart and flexible tariff policy, improving the quality of service, and ensuring that transit through our territory is fast within a few hours. In addition, we served 2.57 million passengers in 2018 and increased to 2.8 million in 2019. In terms of freight, it was 25.8 million tons in 2018 and reached 28.1 million tons in 2019, accounting for 41 percent of total freight was a social important freights, which is a sign of a large socially responsible employer. The Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) jointly selected UBTZ in 10th place as one of the TOP-100 companies of Mongolia in 2019.
