UC3M - PhD Program in Materials Science & Engineering

The aim of this PhD program is to specialize in a research line in the field of Materials Science and Engineering through experience in materials design, processing and charcaterization. It is considered essential to develop capabilities to eststudenablish relationships between structure/microstructure and properties of materials, as well as their link to processing or synthesis techniques. In general, predoctoral researchers will achieve a systematic understanding of certain aspects of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as the mastery of skills and research methods related to this field of knowledge: - To conceive, design, implement and adopt a substantial research process with academic rigor. - To make an original scientific or technological contribution, product of their research, that will expand the frontiers of knowledge in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. In order to proceed to the thesis defense. - To perform critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas. - To know how to communicate with colleagues, the academic community and society in general about their areas of knowledge.
