UCanDoIT is a charity that delivers one-to-one training to people with disabilities in their own homes. Established in 1998 the charity currently has around 80 tutors in England, Wales and Scotland (UCanDoIT Scotland is registered with the OSCR). The charity has taught over 4000 people with disabilities and delivered over 50,000 training sessions since it began.
All UCanDoIT tutors are CRB/DBS cleared. All are experienced in working with people with disabilities with some tutors having previously been learners with this charity.
Unlike many charities UCanDoIT works with all disabilities including visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility and cognitive issues, as well as learning disabilities. Tutors are trained in a wide range of assistive technologies including both software and hardware.
UCanDoIT tutors work on a one-to-one basis which allows both tutor and learner to develop a relationship which we believe benefits the learner. Regular visits help to ensure better learning outcomes and can have a positive effect when working with people who may be in danger of being isolated.
