About UConn Department of Animal Science
It is the department's goal to provide each Animal Science major with a challenging and well-rounded education, including the opportunity for "hands-on learning". Over 60 undergraduate students are employed by the Department each year to care for our animals or their products. One of the truly unique qualities of our department is the access our students have to our on-campus animal teaching units. This access allows us to have an intense hands-on approach to teaching basic biological sciences and gives our students an experiential learning opportunity that truly sets us apart.
