UHI started in 1979, and has grown from a small niche supplier of hydroformed details to a full service stamping and assembly supplier for the automotive and aerospace industries. The extreme detail and skill required to produce aerospace components flows into the mindset of making high quality parts and assemblies for the automotive and transportation industries.
It is an exciting time at UHI. Within the last 5 years, we have grown from 2 facilities to 7, all on the same campus in Sterling Heights Michigan. Within the next month we will be bringing a new large (180”) stamping facility on line, with 4 presses lead by a 3800-ton toggle press. We will be able to offer true low volume production to the industry. Following this, a full body shop with roll hemming and automated assembly will be completed. These additions are only a few of the ones planned for the near future.
