UltraBarrio engages urban design and architecture projects that address the challenges of our urbanizing environment. Our central goal is to shape cities to be more civic, sustainable, and generationally connected by design. Through rigorous research, observation, and collaboration with communities and stakeholders, our work radically transforms the civic realm by building capacity for neighborhoods and cities to thrive; generating conditions that are never static, always nimble, and differently magnetic. Identified as Architect Magazine’s ‘Next Progressives’ Firm, UltraBarrio is noteworthy for design excellence in uniting architecture, urban design, and landscape with placemaking and community visions. As recipients of the prestigious Architect’s Newspaper ‘Best of Design’ Awards, AIA Texas Society of Architects Design Award and AIA Houston Urban Design Awards, our work seeks to coax out and celebrate the specificities of the context that we work within.
