University of Minnesota-Twin Cities TRIO Upward Bound

TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded college access program that supports high school students that are first generation and/or from low-income backgrounds. Hosted by the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development, the program is designed to help students succeed in high school and prepare for college through academic support, advising, tutoring, college prep workshops, cultural enrichment, and a six-week summer program held on the UMN campus. TRIO Upward Bound students receive individualized guidance and participate in experiences that build confidence, leadership, and college readiness. The goal is to increase postsecondary enrollment and graduation by providing the tools, community, and resources students need to thrive. #TRIOworks
