Who are our listeners are? Our listeners are the chronically curious. "Those who must know.” Who are you? I'm Tom Howell. I grew up in the small town of Delano, California, famous for Caesar Chaves, the Voice of America, and Gary's Chili Dogs. I've traveled some of the world doing odd teaching and design jobs. I now teach ESL in New York City, and am always in pursuit of something new. Q The Pug, our mascot, was a sick puppy I picked up at Chatuchak market in Thailand, nursed back to health with my friend Fah, and brought to Queens. Contributors are people of particularly interesting character that I've come across while living in New York and Delano. This podcast is primarily for anyone interested in learning about the world outside their town, city or circle of friends. No matter where one is in the world there is a world beyond. What is it all about? While some people will listen to podcasts for something familiar and firmly within their comfort zone; others seek something new and a little ajar. If you believe that there is nothing better to do on a vacation than to get lost, then climb aboard. With our podcast you can get lost in the cultures, hobbies and lifestyles of others; step outside and listen to people talk passionately about the odd and interesting things they care about.
