Under My Wing, Inc.

Under My Wing, Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization committed to advancing the wellness and leadership of girls ages 11-18 through trauma-informed education and healing-centered programming. Based in Milwaukee, we operate at the intersection of public health, equity, and youth empowerment. Our mission is to challenge systemic inequities by nurturing the mental, emotional, and social well-being of girls through mentorship, wellness experiences, educational pop-ups, and creative tools that develop leaders who implement change. We offer healing-centered mentorship rooted in identity and belonging, pop-up wellness days in the community, Restore Her Weekend—our annual retreat dedicated to healing and empowerment—and culturally responsive workshops designed to ignite emotional literacy, develop purpose and, increase leadership development. Through these solutions, we aim to improve Milwaukee’s wellness index by tackling systemic inequities in education, mental health, leadership, and safety. We reduce school pushout through trauma-informed, healing-centered programs; close mental health gaps by offering safe spaces for emotional wellness; elevate leadership by building confidence and advocacy skills; and interrupt cycles of violence with prevention-focused mentorship. Our framework is designed to help girls heal, lead, and thrive—because when girls heal systems change.
