UoL Trading Group

The UoL Trading Group was set up in order to gather students who have a shared passion for the markets in an environment where they can learn and thrive in a fast-paced team culture. The aims of the group are to: 1) Teach students how to generate trade ideas and strategies 2) Teach students the various types of financial products and how they are traded 3) Teach students how to execute trades 4) Teach students how to hedge effectively and manage risk appropriately The group achieves these aims through executing trades through the TD Amertrade's "ThinkorSwim", which is an elite-level trading platform allowing students to undertake advanced analysis and build their knowledge by applying complex strategies to a virtual trading account. The students aim to trade a variety of products including: 1) Cash Equities 2) Equity Derivatives 3) Futures/Forwards (Indices/Commodities/FX) 4) Spot FX The group attempts to equip the students with the skills necessary to pursue further their careers in Sales and Trading or Asset Management.
