Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD)

The Manchester Engineering Campus Development symbolises The University of Manchester's push to continually strive to improve its standard of teaching and research. As one of the single largest construction projects undertaken by any higher education institution in the UK, MECD will create an environment for the brightest engineers to innovate and will deliver real benefits for both industry and society, with the research conducted by our academic staff and students designed to address real-world challenges. We’ve now opened teaching and learning facilities on three floors of Engineering Buildings A and B, where students can now access to new lecture theatres, bookable meeting and teaching rooms and an extensive range of informal study spaces with both PCs and touchdown spaces. Officially launching in September 2022 we are creating facilities that will put the University at the forefront of engineering globally, helping attract even more world-class talent to the institution and providing an exceptional space for our exceptional people.
