The Business Research Unit (BRU) at the University of Moratuwa was established in 2018 to promote the exchange of ideas and insights for modern-day businesses. The BRU aims to assist in the development of consistent ethical standards in all its activities and organizes the International Conference on Business Research (ICBR) annually. The ICBR provides a platform for both local and international researchers and industry experts to share their knowledge and experiences while encouraging critical analysis of policy and practice. In addition, the BRU hosts a webinar series on research methodologies, which is open to all and aims to foster a dialogue between practitioners, policymakers, students, academia, and researchers.
