UP Astronomical Society

Established in 1991, UP Astronomical Society has strived to excel as a university-wide special-interest organization. Today, the organization continues to promote astronomy to its members, to the university, and to the general public by organizing events that intend to bring astronomy to the people and spread awareness of different astronomical events and celebrations. The organization also uses its platform to encourage Filipino youth to pursue careers in astronomy and foster their interest in the science. UP AstroSoc celebrates astronomy with its two major annual events: the National Astronomy Week (NAW) which happens every third week of February and International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) which occurs at around September to October.
