We proudly identify not only as a hunger-relief organization, but as a highly successful environmental sustainability agency. Since our founding in 2006, we have rescued over 10 million pounds of healthy food from being thrown away in landfills, where it decomposes and creates harmful methane gas. Our ability to collect and distribute fresh, healthy food is based on a rich web of partnerships with agencies, organizations, and volunteers that help gather, prepare, and distribute the food we rescue to those who need it. We now feed 8,000 food-insecure people per week in high-poverty communities throughout Multnomah and Washington Counties.
