Utopia is a social initiative with the goal to promote the circular economy. We collect waste fabric from garment factories and work with NGOs that upskill migrant women and help them gain a source of income, to create eco-friendly fashion and home accessory products. We have a dual-cycle sustainability model where our profits are further used to fund the manufacturing and distribution of reusable sustainable cloth pads to underprivileged women pan India. In our most recent drive, we made and distributed cotton pads to 800 underprivileged girls and women in North East India, saving them an expense of Rs 4.8 lakhs (US$6,000) on disposable pads. 800 cotton pads further reduce 9,600 KGs of landfill waste, 3,500 KGs of plastic waste, and carbon emissions by 36 tons annually.
