The UW-Stout Manufacturing Outreach Center (MOC) is built on a solid tradition of providing positive impacts through services to help manufacturers succeed. MOC has helped more than 3,500 small and medium-sized manufacturers in 33 counties in northern and western Wisconsin become more competitive through services designed for today's industry: • Process Improvement • Business Growth • Profitability • Employee Development • Technology and Research • Sustainable Solutions These services are executed utilizing tools such as: • Lean Transformation • ISO Support • Lean Culture Development • Strategic Direction • Enterprise Business Transformation (EBT) • Opportunities Assessment • Strategic Planning • Top-Line Growth • ExporTech™ - an actionable export plan in three steps • Innovation Management Systems • Marketing Diversification (TDMI) • Technology Scouting • Post-Training Survey • Faculty and Student-Led Research and Development • Profitable Sustainability Initiative (PSI) The UW-Stout Manufacturing Outreach Center (MOC) • Was established in July 1994 as part of the Federal Technology Project with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)/Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (HMEP) as its statutory funding source • Formed as a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Stout (UW-Stout) and five technical colleges—Chippewa Valley, Nicolet Area, Northcentral, Western, and Wisconsin Indianhead • Is headquartered at UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin and is one of numerous specialized outreach Centers within the Stout Technology Transfer Institute (STTI) housed under the UW-Stout Discovery Center Our Mission Engage manufacturers in executing strategies for greater profitability and long-term growth.
