Bereits einige Jahre zuvor wurde das bis dato weltweit zweitgrößte Riesenrad, der Singapore Flyer, bestromt. In der Vergangenheit wurde mit Felixstowe der größte Hafen in England komplett elektrifiziert und automatisiert. Gleiches gilt für das weltweit erste vollautomatisierte Containerterminal im Hafen von Laem Chabang in Thailand – ein weiteres Projekt der Superlative von VAHLE.
