Hội đồng Doanh nghiệp vì sự Phát triển Bền vững Việt Nam (VBCSD) do Phòng Thương mại và Công nghiệp Việt Nam (VCCI) thành lập dưới sự phê duyệt của Chính phủ tại Công văn số 6334/VPCP-KGVX ngày 08/09/2010. Hội đồng chính thức ra mắt ngày 17/12/2010.
VBCSD là một tổ chức định hướng doanh nghiệp có nhiệm vụ phát huy vai trò tích cực và sự ủng hộ nhiệt tình của cộng đồng doanh nghiệp trong việc thực hiện Chiến lược Phát triển bền vững tại Việt Nam, tạo thuận lợi cho việc chia sẻ kinh nghiệm và các thực hành tốt, tăng cường phối hợp chặt chẽ và đối thoại giữa cộng đồng doanh nghiệp, Chính phủ và các đối tác trong xã hội nhằm đẩy mạnh phát triển bền vững.
