Snakebite affects over 5 million people every year, causing half a million injuries and deaths. Current antivenoms are expensive and unstable, so can only be accessed at hospitals many miles from most bites. Travelling to hospital after a snakebite is precious time that cannot be wasted! At Venomite, we aim to develop small molecule therapies that are portable, broadly effective against many snakes, and are affordable.
