The VGH Thrift Store is a vibrant, community-driven nonprofit committed to improving the lives of patients, families, and individuals served by Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), UBC Hospital (UBCH), and other facilities within Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). With a strong focus on fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency, we raise essential funds to support vital health programs, enhance patient care, and improve overall well-being across the region. Our Mission We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Vancouver Coastal Health patients, clients, and residents through a variety of impactful initiatives: -Supporting health-related programs to improve patient care across Vancouver. -Creating volunteer and career development opportunities that empower individuals and foster personal growth. -Promoting sustainability by recycling, reusing, and reducing waste, contributing to environmental stewardship. Our Volunteers Ranging from ages 15 to 76, our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared passion for giving back to the community. They are the heart of our store, playing a vital role in everything we do—from sorting and pricing donations to designing inviting displays. Our volunteers make a real difference every day, raising funds that directly support VCH programs and services. And they know how to throw a great potluck!
