Visit Umeå AB’s mission is to sell and market Umeå as a city for meetings, tourism, events and commerce. The company is partly owned by the tourism industry, a property development company and commerce. It is also funded by the municipality of Umeå. Visit Umeå AB is involved with getting meetings, conferences and congresses to come to the city. The company’s work also involves developing, marketing and bringing events to Umeå and the Umeå region. Promoting a living and attractive city centre and developing shopping tourism are further parts of the company’s remit. Visit Umeå Tourist Center is the destination company’s organisation for private tourism. The tourist centers mission includes the national and international marketing of Umeå and the Umeå region as a destination.
