VOLCANO ACTIVE FOUNDATION

The Volcano Active Foundation is a non profit foundation whose main goals are to support scientific research, to develop and to disseminate the results on volcanoes activity and their risks at a global scale, mitigation of volcanic hazards and support to increase their knowledge through social projects. VOLCANOES DISASTER RISK REDUCTION -Volcanic activity does not only affect volcanic ecosystems and specially those with less resilience: it also directly affects climate change and sea level rise. -We define the resilience of volcanic ecosystems, and enhance the capacity of adaptability of the environment as a means to reduce disaster risk. -We establish common governance guidelines in volcanic ecosystems for disaster risk reduction The creation of an international volcanic ecosystem management and study network for disaster risk reduction.
