Volunteer Tutor Corps

Volunteer Tutor Corps company information, Employees & Contact Information

A growing body of 1,600 scholars and volunteer tutors, the Columbia University Volunteer Tutor Corps (CVTC) is an organization connecting children of New York City's essential workers and under-served communities with students and faculty, who have volunteered to provide support and empowerment through at-home tutoring and continued education in response to COVID-19. The initial focus of our program was the families of health care workers at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). Now the program is expanding to reach other essential workers' families and underserved communities in New York City and beyond. This volunteer-driven program offers remote online instruction in traditional K-12 subjects by matching students with experts in their requested topic areas. Our five core values are Care, Commitment to Equity, Democracy, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and Innovation.
