About Women's Advocacy Initiative
The Women’s Advocacy Initiative (WAI) is a non-profit organization founded to promote the vital message of self-advocacy to women and girls, primarily regarding sexual assault. WAI aspires to reduce the shame and stigma associated with sexual violence, and to provide financial support for counseling, advisory, and legal services to individuals who choose to pursue legal action or a Title IX complaint against their assailants. Amidst both a justice system and an entire culture that work so profoundly to silence victims, we work to equip women with the necessary tools and knowledge to advocate for themselves, make informed decisions, and stand up for their rights.
