WAJAMAMA Community Health

WAJAMAMA, a women-led NGO, was founded to address these challenges. Our mission is to improve maternal and child health outcomes by making integrated healthcare services accessible to women and children in economically-marginalized communities. We work with the understanding that achieving a future of equal opportunities depends on transforming the narratives surrounding reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth outcomes that continue to disadvantage Sub-Saharan Africans. Our programming focuses on improving the holistic health of communities while equipping health care providers with knowledge and tools to provide dignified, respectful, and evidence-based care for all. This multi prong approach ensures maternal health equity and maximizes the chances that Zanzibari children have access to healthy and beautiful beginnings, and thus a more prosperous future.
