The Wildlife Conservation Society European Union Office (WCS EU) is a Belgian international not-for-profit organisation (aisbl), formed in 2018 and affiliated with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), a global conservation organisation working in more than 50 countries across the globe. Founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, WCS has the largest and longest-standing field conservation programme in the world. WCS is protecting the landscapes and seascapes where both the conservation value and opportunity for impact are greatest—and inspiring generations of people to care for the planet.
WCS EU builds relationships with the EU, and Belgian and other European governments to amplify WCS’s global conservation impact (EU Transparency Register: 054662633848-40). Our goal is to inform EU decision-making at the science-policy interface to safeguard wildlife and wild places worldwide.
