"We, the Collective" Short-Form Documentary

"We, the Collective" is an independently-produced documentary film centered on the role that New York City's nightlife economy has played in creating a safe space for black and brown queer, non-binary, and trans individuals. The film highlights specific art collectives, local artists, and community organizers who are leading that charge. As the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19 changed the national conversation in 2020, “We, the Collective” sparks a much-needed conversation about the layered nature of affirmation, access, and liberation within the LGBTQ+ community. “We, the Collective” is currently in production and will be making its debut in film festivals come 2022.
