2nd Act Org, Inc.

2nd Act Org, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with headquarters in Boston, MA and a chapter in Cleveland, OH. Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together (COAAST) and Improbable Players bring a combined 40+ years experience to this merged organization as 2nd Act. Their programming utilizes drama therapy, applied theatre, and theatre education to address Substance Use Disorder. Programming includes SEL theatre classes in recovery high schools, drama therapy groups for people in long-term recovery, original prevention plays for middle and high schools, and a collaborative applied theatre program in the community that creates new plays centering voices of those in recovery and people in active use. 2nd Act's Mission: 2nd Act is a collective of artists in recovery which uses theatre, film, and drama therapy to address the impact of substance use. Together we empower diverse and inclusive communities to promote understanding in the face of stigma. 2nd Act Vision: We believe in a world where all stories are honored, recovery is celebrated, and everyone gets a second act. *2nd Act is a Recovery Friendly Workplace.
