Our work encompasses activities that impact the health care access and quality and social and community context domains within the social determinants of health model: Community Activities: We engage with and support Black women and birthing individuals through presentations, social media, consultations, and workshops. - Presentations, Workshops, social media outreach: We offer free, evidence-based education over a range of health and health advocacy topics that aim to raise awareness, inform, and empower the Black birthing community. We strive to connect them to Black healthcare professionals and with each other to strengthen social and community ties. - One-on-One Consultations: We provide personalized consultations with individualized health advice and support for Black birthing individuals who are pregnant, addressing specific health concerns and helping to navigate the healthcare system. Research and Consulting: We research the root causes of the Black maternal health crisis and identify effective interventions through partnerships with academic faculty and public health professionals. These partnerships extend our reach and connect with more Black birthing individuals.
