About Weir-Jones Group
Weir-Jones Group has over a 50-year history with projects in over 55 countries collecting condition data from critical assets in the Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Mining, and Marine industries for the purpose of structural integrity/health monitoring and assessment, and failure prediction. Our goal is to provide clients with valid answers and practical solutions based on the analysis of results obtained from real-time operational data. Weir-Jones has developed a complete seismic and health monitoring solution for structural integrity assessment of critical infrastructure and assets, including sensors, instrumentation, installation, monitoring, data analysis, alarming, and report generation. This enables optimal decision-making with respect to reliability, maintenance, and planning. The systems can measure vibration, strain, fatigue, bolt tension, shock, and crack propagation on critical infrastructure and assets, in a variety of harsh terrestrial or marine environments, such as offshore and underground. The data is processed by software that allows operators to predict failures and schedule maintenance events prior to failure, increasing safety and reducing downtime considerably. Web-portal interfaces allow clients to view the health of their critical infrastructure and assets in real-time, while alerting the client on potential failures and adverse trends. Examples of past and present projects include: - Pattullo Bridge structural integrity / health monitoring system (SIMS / SHMS) and earthquake early warning systems (EEWS) - Lions Gate Bridge and Pitt River Bridge SIMS / SHMS - George Massey Tunnel EEWS - Monitoring oil & gas pipelines in Canada carrying over 2M barrels/day for pending failures & leaks - TransLink construction monitoring - Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) wastewater pipeline monitoring - EEWS interfaced to USGS EEW network in the Pacific Northwest (water/wastewater plants, airports, hotels, schools, etc.)
