WELDING INTERNATIONAL Journal

Welding International is a peer-reviewed journal which aims to enrich the global exchange of scientific activities in the welding and joining processes of materials (metals, alloys, plastics, ceramics, composites). The journal, also, encompasses a broad range of topics, including preliminary research on innovative processes, design frameworks, materials, and applications within additive manufacturing. The iournal reports the achievements of science and engineering of welding and joining processes, and additive manufacturing, with original research papers, review articles invited by the editors, letters, and brief research notes, encompassing: • all joining techniques at all scales (including fusion welding, solid state welding, friction welding, pressure welding, brazing, soldering, mechanical joining etc) • dissimilar material joints • hybrid joints (combinations of joining techniques) • cutting • thermal spraying • metallurgical and material characterizations relating to joining (mechanical properties, physical properties, metallography, failure analysis, corrosion resistance, chemical analysis, fracture analysis) • quality control and nondestructive examination (NDE) of welds • characterization and operational effectiveness of welded structures • control, sensors and automation of welding • welding physics • occupational health, safety, and environmental considerations in joining processes • analytical and numerical modeling of joining processes • optimization of joining processes • application of AI and evolutionary computing techniques in joining processes • additive manufacturing • education of joining processes • education of additive manufacturing Welding International publishes several Special Issues per year on specific topics. In addition, Welding International provides comprehensive English translations of complete articles selected from the Journal of Japan Welding Society and the Quarterly Journal of Japan Welding Society.
