We Listen In is a non-profit association with the aim to strengthen the well-being of women with a foreign background in Sweden.
We Listen In is the only organization in Sweden within mental health that focuses on our target group. We believe in the strength of being multicultural and are a forum for empowering women through personal development. It is a strength to have access to several cultures, but in today's society, being a woman with a foreign background brings more challenges than advantages due to sexism, racism and anti-muslim racism. These types of discrimination give rise to three types of stress that our organization works to reduce: minority stress, acculturative stress and bicultural stress.
WLI wants to create a safe community among multicultural women and build a sisterhood. To empower our members, we offer empowerment workshops, mentorship, networking events, social events, cultural events, book circles, empowerment retreats. co-working spaces and internships.
