What Ability Foundation

What Ability Foundation is on a mission to unlock community experiences for people with a disability and their families by partnering with organisations in sport, adventure, accomodation, dining and entertainment. We believe community access is not just a privilege, it’s a human right. We are passionate about breaking down barriers so that individuals and families living with disability can have full access to the community – to move, jump, play, swim and experience life to the full. The additional costs for families who have a loved one with disability are significant. Often parents are unable to work and pressure on household budgets means they cannot afford to access community events or activities. Something as simple as a day at the beach or as costly as a night’s accommodation (respite) is out of reach for many. Parents tell us that despite the challenges their child may have or their unique needs, access to the community opens their world. Our members and the families who love and care for them are at the heart of everything we do.
