Wisconsin District Export Council

The Wisconsin District Export Council (Wisconsin DEC) is a group of Wisconsin trade professionals who provide expert advice and support services to other Wisconsin businesses looking to grow their presence in the international marketplace. The Wisconsin DEC is authorized by the U.S. Department of Commerce and works in conjunction with the U.S. Commercial Service Wisconsin. The Wisconsin DEC supports businesses across the state as they seek to export goods and services, which in turn strengthens individual companies, stimulates the economic growth of both Wisconsin and the U.S., and supports/creates jobs. Wisconsin DEC is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization and member of the National Association of District Export Councils (NADEC). NADEC increases awareness and understanding of the importance of exports to the U.S. economy through education, legislative outreach and engagement with the approximately 60 DECs around the U.S. and other relevant stakeholders. NADEC is a non-profit corporation that maintains a 501(c)(6) federal income tax status and directly supports the U.S. Government’s export promotion efforts. The Wisconsin DEC membership is composed of experienced international business leaders who are available to provide support services to exporting companies in the areas of international trade, finance, logistics, marketing, and documentation to name a few. Wisconsin DEC Members counsel and mentor Wisconsin businesses in exporting (both those that are new to exporting, as well as those experienced exporters) at no cost to the business. Wisconsin DEC Members specifically: -Identify export financing sources for businesses -Create greater export awareness throughout Wisconsin -Identify issues affecting Wisconsin export trade -Advocate trade policy and legislation -Build Wisconsin export assistance partnerships -Provide export training and education
