About Wish for Wheels
Wish for Wheels turns dreams into reality for 2nd-grade students through unforgettable bike-building employee engagement experiences. Research shows that philanthropic team building can increase your ROI, improve morale and inspire camaraderie. Our events will help you do just that by empowering local 7 and 8-year olds through the gift of a new bike and helmet. Picture it: Your team has built the bikes, lined them up, and paired them with helmets. Now, it’s time for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: watching the 2nd-grade class walk in, eyes wide and smiles glowing. Your team steps in, not just to hand over a bike, but to make sure each child is ready to ride. They help adjust seats and handlebars, fit helmets just right, and guide those first, wobbly pedals. Some kids grip the handlebars nervously, never having ridden before. Others need a steady hand on their back before they find their balance. Your team becomes their coaches, their cheerleaders, the ones who encourage them to push off and take that first real ride. That’s when the real magic happens. The moment of pure joy when a child realizes, ‘I can do this!’ Your team doesn’t just build bikes. They build confidence, connection, a lasting sense of freedom, and a brighter future for the children right in front of them. After seeing the impact they made firsthand, your team will leave knowing they changed lives, together. Since 2004, we've worked with companies across the US — from Hawaii to New York — providing bikes to under-resourced children through our Team Build & Give Program. No matter where you are, we can coordinate with Title I schools in your community to help deserving 7- and 8-year olds experience the joy and many benefits that bikes can bring!
