The World Surgical Foundation Philippines, Inc. (WSFP) is a non-stock, non-profit charitable organization, duly registered to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and based in the Philippines. It aims to address unmet surgical needs in marginalized or underserved communities in the country.
WSFP was officially established on June 30, 2017 as an independent charitable organization providing Filipino needy, the access to quality surgical healthcare through surgical outreach activities, donation of much needed surgical equipment and training of medical professionals in government hospitals where these activities are held. Since then, WSFP has conducted 26 surgical outreach activities in 14 provinces and 6 cities, covering about 3,300 free surgeries for indigent individuals. The Foundation has also distributed around 900 pulse oximeters, 820 surgical safety checklists to over 289 participant hospitals through its partnership with AmeriCares on the Safe Surgery Initiative (Lifebox Project).
These programs and activities of the Foundation are highly supported through partnerships with Foundations with similar CSR thrust, and sponsorships from corporations, private organizations and individuals sharing the same advocacy, and as well as strategic partnerships with concerned government agencies.
