Established in January 2007, PVIC has quickly emerged as a pioneering force in advancing the photovoltaic industry. With a focus on accelerating the growth of the photovoltaic (PV) industry, PVIC is driving advancements in technology, reducing costs, and fostering innovation. By eliminating market barriers and promoting collaboration, PVIC aims to solidify Ohio's position as a leader in PV research, manufacturing, and deployment. At our research center, we explore a broad spectrum of areas related to harnessing sunlight into electricity using various materials such as cadmium-telluride, perovskite, copper indium gallium selenide, and amorphous silicon hydride. Accelerating the Photovoltaic (PV) Industry: Key Focus Areas Advancing Next Generation Technologies through groundbreaking technologies based on quantum dot, wire, and tube structures that incorporate organic and inorganic components, as well as those utilizing dye-sensitized nanostructured metal oxides. Enhancing Thin Film PV through cost reduction, accelerated deposition rates, and performance enhancements. Developing Balance-of-Systems (BOS) that efficiently connect PV modules to power delivery systems in homes, businesses, and generating stations.
