Michael Heben is the Helen and Harold McMaster Endowed Chair for Photovoltaics, the Managing Director of the Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization, and a Professor of Physics at the University of Toledo. He earned a BS degree in Physics from John Carroll University, an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford, and a PhD in Chemistry from Caltech. He was a postdoc with A.J.Nozik and later a Principal Scientist and Group Leader over an 18 year career at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado, prior to coming to the University of Toledo in 2008. His interests include the science, manufacturability, and economics of PV materials and devices, and issues relating to integration of buildings, distributed energy resources, and the electric grid.
