Wrii Studio

It is said that every idea starts with a dream. Wrii Studio was founded on 15th of March 2020. A life long dream of Writuparna came to life on this day. Years ago as a little kid trundling across the dusty steps of her grandmother's home in Chandannagar, little Writu would see people weaving dhotis, gamchas and sarees. Handlooms and charkhas are a common sight in Chandannagar even to this day. While growing up she was used to seeing weavers working and embedding their charm in every square inch of the taant fabric. Sometimes, she used to collect the stray fabric and wrap them around herself pretending to wear a saree. This was the start of her involvement with handloom, fabric and design. She quickly learnt the basics of weaving and how to distinguish between various fabric by touch. Here time as a student as a student in NIFT Bhubaneshwar gave her more knowledge and confidence about textiles and how to design them. Writu took a step towards the unknown and founded Wrii Studio with the idea to make affordable hand made sarees with trendiest designs available to the ever growing community of saree lovers. Here at Wrii Studio, we believe that every saree tells a story. And That is why every saree we make, tells a story of its own.
