York Marrow is a one of 50 student-run organisations across the country that works closely with the charity Anthony Nolan to help save the lives of people with blood cancer. Our committee and team of volunteers run regular donor recruitment events around campus and the city to recruit potential donors to the stem cell register in the hopes of finding a life-saving match for those in desperate need of a stem cell transplant. Alongside these recruitment events, York Marrow tries to raise money and awareness of Anthony Nolan's lifesaving work through fundraising events and collaborations, as well as attending national and regional conferences to improve our contribution to this work. We hope that, through this work and the work of the other marrow groups nationwide, we can continue to recruit the one in four people that go on to donate stem cells and potentially save someone's life.
