Much of this is due to the fact that it is the result of peasant family farming. More than 150,337 families depend economically on cocoa production.
Guaranteeing stable and fair prices for the national cocoa supply was one of PACARI's first sustainable practices, recognizing historical quality and promoting family farming passed down from generation to generation.
