Auch wenn sich die verschiedenen Pathologien zum Teil stark unterscheiden, sind die Schwierigkeiten und Hindernisse, denen sich die Patient/innen im Alltag gegenüber sehen, doch vergleichbar :
Mangel an Informationen, Irrwege bei der Diagnosestellung sowie im Umgang mit Behörden, ungleicher Zugang zu Therapien, unzureichende Forschung und Behandlungen, ungenügende Versorgung, psychosoziale Isolation, schwierige Integration in Schule und Erwerbsleben.
Mit der Bündelung ihrer Kräfte unter dem Dach von ProRaris geben sich Betroffene und Patient/innenorganisationen ein gemeinsames Sprachrohr und verleihen ihren Forderungen gegenüber Ansprechpartnern mehr Gewicht.
