SHiFT is a female-owned boutique advisory and coaching firm centered on sales and operations simplification, business strategy and executive leadership & career coaching. We have one goal: helping our clients achieve theirs.
SHiFT is founded by Laura James (MBA, ACC, PMP, LSS Black Belt), a Silicon Valley veteran and international consultant to Fortune 500 companies. Laura has held leadership roles at Salesforce, ServiceNow, VMware, and Verizon. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Worldwide Operations Transformation at VMware.
Our Consulting Philosophy: Transformation is NOT about the platform. We are centered on the belief that real transformation occurs when there is a focus on simplifying culture, business process and customer experience. Transformation starts with identifying opportunities within these core components, baselining and continually measuring the value.
Our Coaching Outlook: Our coaching style is set on honesty, inspiration, growth and accountability. With over 25+ years as a leader in tech, we see coaching as an opportunity to free our client's mind to the things you normally wouldn't consider doing - a true growth mindset.
We have coached hundreds of individuals in navigating their careers and overcoming professional obstacles. We specialize in coaching on a range of topics, including prioritizing and strategic planning, setting clear goals (KPIs and OKRs), time management and efficiency, and developing leadership skills such as conflict resolution, empowerment, confidence, and negotiation. Additionally, we focus on personal development areas like asking for what you want, self-esteem, setting boundaries, and the power of active listening. Having climbed the corporate ladder, Laura has valuable insights and stories of both successes and lessons learned. You cannot stop the waves, but you can learn to surf!
