I am a passionate, hard-working, and dedicated person. I come from a very diverse background as I have lived and travelled all across the U.S. and Asia, moving over 20 times before I was 16. Because of this, I am resilient, outgoing, and can easily adapt to any situation. My diverse interests have cultivated in a wide range of skills and abilities. I hope to continue my education through graduate school in business and psychology programs. With a 3.91 GPA, I have consistently been on the Dean's and Chancellor's Lists. My Oral Presentation was one of those selected to be included at IUE’s 2021 Student Research Day. Currently, I have two articles published and another under review. I am a Research Assistant for a project investigating attitudes and behaviors towards individuals who identify as nonbinary. I have also been chosen to be a Supplemental Instructor (SI) at IUE and a tutor for the Service Learning Center. In addition to my educational experiences, my work experiences have developed my communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and leadership skills. For example, as a successful Store Manager for over five years, my duties included performing all Human Resource functions. This experience inspired me to apply psychology to the business setting and cultivated my interest in the industrial and organizational subfield. I am a current student member of Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). I have further developed my leadership and interpersonal communication skills through leadership roles in Psychology Club, an active member of Circle K International, as well as actively participating in other organizations.I continuously seek out events to further enhance my knowledge, such as attending the Animal Behavior Conference, the Beyond Boundaries–IN Academies Symposium, SIOP Annual Conference, IU Annual Women’s & Gender Studies Undergrad Conference and Midwest Undergrad Cognitive Science Conference over the past couple months, to name a few. I completed the QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Program, which renewed strengths such as my caregiving, interpersonal, and organizational skills. I have completed Safe Zone (LGBT Education and Ally) training and have continued this learning by participating in events such as the “IUE Transgender Nonbinary SafeZone Workshop” on March 31, 21. Earlier this year, I also completed Human Research CITI training for Social/Behavioral Researchers as well as Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research. I hope to continue my education through a graduate program soon!
