Gitaly is a critical service that manages git and other filesystem operations for GitLab instances. As a member of the Gitaly team, my primary goal is to deliver a durable, performant, and reliable Git storage layer for GitLab.

Join in the scalability team, responsible for GitLab and GitLab.com at scale, working on the highest priority scaling items related to the applicationand GitLab.com. The team works in close coordination with Reliability Engineering teams and provides feedback to other Engineering teams so they can become better at scalability as well.

Responsible for the engineering department of 70 engineers.- Oversee 12 development squads and their projects. - Consult architectural solutions to functional squads.- Work closely with CTO to set strategic plans, define technical initiatives, set roadmap, and engineering OKRs.- Build a career ladder and the performance review process.- Monitor the reliability and performance of all systems to meet SLO/SLA.- Create and maintain company-wise techinical conventions, quality standards, and centralized knowledge base.- Coordinate with other departments to adhere to business executions.

- Establish, recruit, and lead platform team consisting of 7 members, focus on Infrastructure, Reliability, and Engineering Effectiveness. - Pioneer to build a foundation for microservice architecture, break a big monolithic app into 54 microservices. - Support scaling from 20k to 500k users, 2M to 100M+ requests/month.- Build development and canary deployment workflow to reach 20 deployments per day, time to production of 30 minutes (down from 3 hours - 2 deployments per week).- Build a rich CLI as a backbone for engineer operational activities, microservice scaffolding. Reduce 60% of overhead and efforts.- Implement core system libraries, including a company-tailored Kafka framework, gRPC framework, observability framework based on Prometheus and Jaeger. - Build and widespread observability, alerting systems for all teams.- Build core services, such as API gateway, authentication based on JWT, authorization based on OAuth2, feature flag service, audit service, etc.

I wore many hats to help the startup grow, mainly responsible for developing the Lixibox e-commerce platform from scratch. The system handled 500k registered users, 25M requests per month, 20k orders per month.- Implement user-facing e-commerce storefront, shopping cart, payment gateway, membership system, order management system. - Implement an affiliate marketing platform.- Implement back-office inventory management, order fulfillment and delivery, buyer import/export, customer profiles and supports, etc.

A platform to connect photographers, models and online businesses to provide competitive photoshoot packages. I am responsible for the photoshoot service, supporting growth-hacking marketing strategy to get the first 3000 users with zero marketing fees.
