Program manager for the newly formed "Green Infrastructure" department. Upcoming projects will focus on school greening for approximately 18 schools across three districts in Los Angeles County. Projects will aim to remove asphalt, increase green space (for recreation and storm water retention), and add outdoor learning spaces, while planting trees and native plants on the campus. I am managing TreePeople’s Native Garden Kit program, which aims to help homeowners transform their lawn to southern California native plants. I spearheaded the professional development process, facilitated the discussion and instituted an ongoing, systemic professional development approach. This represents a paradigm shift as compared to the traditional "sit and get" method often used by schools.Since December 2015, I have worked to develop our latest acquisition, preparing it for occupancy, overseeing updates to the facility to ensure it includes sustainable features and becomes a learning tool. I oversaw the renovation and furnishing of the entire 1.8 acre, 15,025 square foot campus.I advised the administration on implementation of sustainable materials in school renovations and developed materials for faculty to integrate sustainability into the curriculum, spearhead facilities as teaching tools by incorporating the updates into the curriculum, worked with faculty and staff to engender sustainable behaviors, and support STEAM initiatives in the classroom, including the creation of a STEAM academy.Implemented training on Google Apps in education and instituted ongoing trainings. Starting with a 4-hour session, I delivered a training on Google Apps (specifically Google Sites, Google Forms, Google Drive, etc) and created a bimonthly follow up for ongoing support.I developed baselines for resource use, measured our consumption, and aimed to decrease our resource usage, while increasing awareness of materials and their usage throughout the campus as we worked toward Green Ribbon School status. I oversaw the $1.4 million energy efficiency retrofit from Prop 39.
