About Mike Moreno
Howdy, my last gig was a Senior Design Recruiter at ServiceNow, where I jointly recruited Product Designers, Technical Writers, and Content Strategists for the ServiceNow Experience Team. With over four years of recruiting experience, I developed expertise in diversity and skills-based hiring, leveraged data to inform and advise, and provided a world-class candidate experience. I even helped automate some manual processes. As an Army veteran, person of color, and member of multiple other communities, I have a passion for helping people from non-traditional backgrounds and underrepresented groups in tech. I led bi-monthly Diversity Sourcing Jams, mentored transitioning military and early career designers, and led the second iteration of the Shine skills-based hiring pilot program for LinkedIn. If you are looking to chat or for a recruiter who can help you find and attract top talent, send me a message!
Listed skills include Unity3D, Unity, Creative Problem Solving, C#, and 31 others.

Podcaster
Mike and Steve Don't Know What They're Doing is a podcast where we pick a new topic to learn about and discuss. We have absolutely no idea what we're doing…hence the name of the show.I wanted to work on my public speaking skills and figured what better way to do that than start a podcast. So I did some research, found the basic equipment and software to get going, and told Steve we're starting a podcast.
Recruiter
I supported hiring initiatives for the Global Business Organization (GBO) Customer Success teams that included LinkedIn Talent Solutions, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, LinkedIn Sales Solutions, and LinkedIn Learning Solutions. I led the second iteration of the Shine skills-based hiring pilot program for the company for the GBO. At a high level, the hiring process was:- Removal of Basic Role Qualifications- An optional LinkedIn Learning Path to re-skill + assessments to validate skills- Candidates who performed well on assessments were accelerated through the interview process and guaranteed an interview with a LinkedIn Recruiter (Me)Through this pilot, we were able to hire Customer Support Consultants from non-traditional backgrounds and with transferrable skills that would make them successful in the role. I'm so proud to see that many of the people hired through the Shine program are still growing at the company several years later!

Recruiter, Linkedin Recruiting For Good - Nyc Health + Hospitals
Recruiting for Good helps to connect our employees with opportunities to make a positive social impact in their communities and around the world via pro bono search assignments with non-profits. My team partnered with NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest public health care system in the U.S., to find critical care doctors, hospitalists, and nurse practitioners to volunteer their time and expertise to save lives.I utilized LinkedIn Talent Insights to map out the total addressable market for potential volunteers. Using this data, I built a strategic map that aligned each team member with a region of the country. This focused our sourcing efforts and mitigated overlap while recruiting volunteer healthcare workers. In addition, I was able to successfully pivot into a new industry to source and recruit 27% of the credentialed volunteers for this project, earning a Bravo award for my operations and recruiting efforts.
